The credit card has changed the shape of shopping in today’s world. Why, since I cancelled my American Express credit card, I have been unable to partake of a wide variety of goods and services, and that is no joke. Just ordering some clothes over the internet wasn’t possible and how basic is that in today’s world. The old days of cash being king are gone.

It is a global phenomenon buying products or services with your American Express credit card without even caring whether or not we can afford them or even need them. Using your American Express credit card may be convenient but there is a cost for the convenience of paying at a later date. Money owed to credit card companies is increasing everywhere. In America it is true to say that credit card debt is probably one of the biggest problems facing us.

After considering this I decide to get rid of my American Express credit card at least for the present. I found it too easy using my card and spending money that wasn’t mine to spend. Everything went onto my card and it didn’t take long before debt went out of control. Panic kicked in when I found I could no longer pay the debt.

The debt refinancing service I turned to were my best hope and I managed to get the debt repayment under control. To say the situation had become a nightmare would be a gross understatement. It took some time but the American Express credit card has gone and so has my debt. Many people would think me unfair about blaming a credit card but they need to understand something about people first.

I was more conscious of the cost of things when I paid for goods in cash. But like I said before, a credit card made everything way too easy. I would spend money on everything, almost like a person possessed but before long, there wasn’t anything left. So now there is no American Express credit card problem for me to worry about.

It’s hard imagining life in today’s world without a credit card. Why, since I cancelled my American Express credit card, I have been unable to partake of a wide variety of goods and services, and that is no joke. Some of the basic things I took for granted were lost to me, even the simple act of buying a plane ticket to Florida. It wasn’t that long ago when cash spoke volumes, but not anymore.

Using an American Express, Visa or Mastercard has become commonplace globally but we do it without thinking, do I need this and do I have the money. You cannot escape though, as the price is high when using your American Express credit card and buy it now, pay tomorrow philosophy. Credit card debt is mounting everywhere. In America it is true to say that credit card debt is probably one of the biggest problems facing us.

I couldn’t think of any other alternative but to get rid of my American Express credit card. I found it too easy using my card and spending money that wasn’t mine to spend. Before too long as the spending started to spiral out of control I had to admit that I had been charging everything to my card irrespective of what it was. Panic kicked in when I found I could no longer pay the debt.

To get my debt back into a position where I could pay for it I resorted to using a debt refinancing company. This is not something I ever want to happen again. It took some time but the American Express credit card has gone and so has my debt. Don’t think I am making excuses when I blame my credit card because you are not taking into account basic human psychology.

When I had to pay with everything in cash, I would know just what I had at any given time. As I said before, credit cards make the cost of things misleading because you don’t take any notice. I would spend money on everything, almost like a person possessed but before long, there wasn’t anything left. Now, there is no longer a problem because there’s no longer an American Express credit card.
